PawPlan Privacy
1. Overview
PawPlan is a pet-care planning app. This policy describes what data the app handles, how it is used, and which Apple services are involved.
2. What PawPlan stores
- Pet profile details such as pet name, type, breed, birthday, weight, notes, and profile photo.
- Pet parent details such as name, phone, address, and optional profile photo.
- Vet and emergency-contact details that the user chooses to save inside PawPlan.
- Care details and handoff-ready notes that the user chooses to save for each pet.
- Pet-care records such as feedings, routines, completed care tasks, medications, vaccinations, treatments, vet visits, weight entries, and journal notes.
- Attachments the user chooses to add, including photos and PDF files.
- Reminder preferences, appearance settings, and premium-state preferences.
When iCloud is available on the device, this app data can also sync or restore through the app's CloudKit-backed storage.
3. How the data is used
- Show daily tasks and logging history.
- Generate Insights, streaks, widgets, and summaries.
- Schedule local reminders selected by the user.
- Create exportable summaries and PDF care packets.
- Enforce free-tier and Pawerium premium access rules.
- Restore and sync the user's pet-care records across devices through Apple services when available.
4. Offline-first behavior
Core app usage is designed to work locally on the device. Many everyday actions, including logging care activity and viewing recent pet data, continue to work without an active network connection.
5. Analytics and measurement
PawPlan includes Firebase Analytics for basic product usage measurement. Product analytics are on by default.
PawPlan sends limited analytics events such as screen views, quick-log opens, task completion and logging actions, pet switching, and routine save and completion events.
These analytics events may include app and device identifiers plus event metadata needed to understand app usage trends and feature engagement.
PawPlan does not use this analytics layer for cross-app tracking or third-party advertising. Ad personalization signals are disabled in the shipped app configuration.
6. Purchases and subscriptions
PawPlan offers optional Pawerium subscriptions through Apple StoreKit. Purchase, renewal, billing, and restore handling are managed by Apple.
7. Photos, files, and exports
The app lets users pick photos for pet profiles or health and note attachments, import PDF documents as health attachments, and generate shareable summaries and PDF exports. These items are handled only when the user chooses to add, import, or share them.
8. Notifications
If the user grants notification permission, PawPlan can schedule local notifications for care reminders, medication timing, and other pet-related due items.
9. Widgets
PawPlan widgets read a compact current-pet snapshot from the app's shared App Group container so widget views can display status without direct access to the app's internal repository.
10. Third-party sharing
PawPlan does not include third-party advertising SDKs. The app does include Firebase Analytics for product measurement, and analytics data is processed through Google Firebase services according to the app's Firebase configuration.
The app also relies on Apple platform services where relevant, including CloudKit for private iCloud-backed sync and backup, StoreKit, UserNotifications, WidgetKit, and App Groups.
11. Data retention and control
Users can update or delete much of their pet data directly in the app. Shared-data behavior depends on the current household-sharing rules in the product.
- Delete pet profiles and their associated records from the app.
- Remove saved photos, notes, attachments, and contact details directly in the app.
- Reset the app's CloudKit-backed backup from Settings.
12. Children
PawPlan is not positioned as a children's app. If the product category or target audience changes, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures should be reviewed again.
13. App Store privacy disclosures
PawPlan's App Store privacy details are intended to match the data practices described on this page for the current release.
If the app's SDKs or data practices change, this policy and the corresponding App Store disclosures will be updated together.
